Restoring what’s broken—together
The Living Seawall at the Church by the Sea is more than a construction project. It’s a community-driven, faith-rooted effort to restore water quality, protect biodiversity, and reimagine what coastal infrastructure can be.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, this initiative began with two overlapping moments: a child’s illness caused by polluted canal water, and a church’s need to replace its aging seawall. Rather than settle for a standard solution, we chose to lead with innovation—and purpose.

Our vision
To create a world where seawalls don’t just hold back the water, but help clean it. Where infrastructure doesn’t divide nature from people—but reconnects them.
Our mission
To build Florida’s first fully integrated vertical living seawall—one that filters water, restores marine life, and inspires other communities to take action.
